Waking up to a big blue wave: the classic midterm shift.

Some believe it makes no difference how we vote, because whoever controls the game is better at manipulating the outcome than any everyday person is at stopping it.

If that’s true, whoever is running the game played it smart. They worked on human emotions, capitalizing on fear and propaganda, mixed with real circumstances. Ironic, considering the blue side leans toward socialism, not capitalism.

Conservative politicians ignored warnings and reprimands, and moderate voters had policies forced on them that they didn’t want: school vouchers here in Texas, fear of infringement through things like Flock cameras, hype and fear around data centers. Meanwhile, actual high prices hit our bank accounts while those at the top denied there was an issue.

Cruel deportation situations were also highlighted in the news sources people under 50 actually pay attention to, like TikTok and YouTube, bringing in more emotion-driven votes. Add the continual lies we’ve been fed by both sides about positive change, with property taxes and beyond. After a while, it’s inevitable that a long red streak like this produces a blue wave.

You can bet someone strategically powerful at the top of this game will benefit, and as usual, it will be at the people’s expense. This won’t be as bad as some imagine, and it won’t be as good as many think. Just one observation.
